One thing I’ve noticed is that “healthcare abroad” is not one single experience.
Some people rely on local health insurance.
Some keep international insurance.
Some pay out of pocket for routine appointments.
Some use private clinics for speed and local systems for bigger issues.
And some are still trying to figure out what actually makes sense.
For those living abroad full-time or part-time: what setup has worked best for you so far?
I’m especially curious about the practical side: appointment wait times, specialist access, prescriptions, emergencies, and whether your plan actually worked when you needed it. Right now I'm covered by the regular EPS system and so far so good, but what do you guys use? I'm thinking to move to a Medicina Prepagada. Any of you have it? Is it good or is it the same as the EPS?
