Choosing Where to Live in Medellín

Do not choose a Medellín apartment from photos alone.

Check:

Is it uphill or flat?
Can you walk to groceries?
Is there construction nearby?
How noisy is it at night?
How far is the Metro or main transport?
Does it get afternoon sun and heat?
Is it close to your real routine?
Is the view worth the daily inconvenience?

Common lifestyle differences:

El Poblado: convenient, international, pricier, nightlife-heavy in parts
Manila: walkable, central, softer Poblado option
Laureles: residential, cafés, restaurants, flatter streets
Envigado: calmer, local, connected but less central
Sabaneta: farther, quieter, often better value
Ciudad del Río: practical, modern, connected
Belén: local, varied, depends heavily on exact area

Medellín is easier when your neighborhood matches your real life, not your vacation mood.
